Volunteer Program Intern Unpaid
IndyHumane is seeking a collaborative, energetic individual who is passionate about both animals and people to serve as our Volunteer Program Intern for Spring 2025. This intern will support the Volunteer and Camp Manager in key aspects of volunteer engagement, including maintaining and auditing the volunteer database, assisting with onboarding, and updating program materials. The role offers hands-on experience in volunteer coordination and nonprofit administration.
Qualifications:
Current college student
Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
15-20 hours per week availability
General responsibilities include:
Audit and update Volunteer Management database.
Send engagement communications to current and prospective volunteers.
Develop and communicate a working knowledge of IndyHumane’s mission and services.
Develop an understanding of departmental functions and volunteer support needs.
Contribute ideas for improving processes or programs offered by volunteer department.
Assist in planning and execution of volunteer onboarding process.
Other duties and projects as assigned.

Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation
Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to represent IndyHumane in a professional manner
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and social media platforms
Comfort and ease speaking with volunteers
Familiarity with volunteer management best practices
Good time-management skills
Detail-oriented
Ability to work in collaboration and independently
Sensitive to confidential information
Embrace diversity
Love of animals
